چکیده
In this article, empty substrate integrated waveguides (ESIW) technology is applied to design long slot leaky-wave antennas (LWAs). First, a uniform-aperture structure presented and its limitations on forming the beam are studied. Then, sinusoidal curve employed modify geometry of guided-wave which divides into number segments, making periodic aperture. After that, method proposed regulate guided waves inside ESIW. To end, modulation function derived simultaneously determine local amplitude segment length physical at each individual points structure. This results in manipulating phase constant $(\beta)$ leakage rate notation="LaTeX">$(\alpha)$ across aperture ultimately controls both tilt angle sidelobe-level (SLL) constructed beam. The placed centerline broad wall ESIW reduce cross polarization. designed operate 35 GHz with SLL = −30 dB backward notation="LaTeX">$\theta _{m}=-20 ^\circ $ . Finally, LWA simulated fabricated measured. A good agreement observed between theoretical, simulated, measured performance antenna.

Leaky CPW-Based Slot Antenna Arrays for Millimeter-Wave Applications
A uniplanar leaky-wave antenna (LWA) suitable for operation at millimeter-wave frequencies is introduced. Both unidirectional and bidirectional versions of the antenna are presented. The proposed structure consists of a coplanar waveguide fed linear array of closely spaced capacitive transverse slots. This configuration results in a fast-wave structure in which the = 0 spatial harmonic radiates...

متن کاملTunable Dielectric Resonator-Based Left-Handed Leaky Wave Antenna
Recently, left-handed (LH) metamaterials have been achieved by arranging an array of TE resonant dielectric resonators (DRs) in a cut-off parallel plate waveguide [1], [2]. Since negative permittivity is provided by the TE cut-off background, the DRs only need to generate the required negative permeability in order to realize a LH metamaterial. This configuration provides a more flexible choice...
متن کاملSilicon-based optical leaky wave antenna with narrow beam radiation.
We propose a design of a dielectric (silicon nitride) optical leaky wave antenna (OLWA) with periodic semiconductor (silicon) corrugations, capable of producing narrow beam radiation. The optical antenna radiates a narrow beam because a leaky wave (LW) with low attenuation constant is excited at one end of the corrugated dielectric waveguide. We show that pointing angle, beam-width, and operati...
متن کاملAn Electronically Switchable Leaky Wave Antenna
We report an electronically switchable dielectric leaky wave antenna. The main beam angle can be electronically steered using p-i-n diodes. The diodes are used as switches to control the radiation from two sets of gratings with different periods, thereby switching the main beam angle. Beam steering is achieved at a single fixed frequency; no frequency sweeping is necessary. A microwave prototyp...
